There is no charge to visit public beaches in South Carolina! With all the oceanfront condos in our inventory, a fun afternoon is just steps away. Your kids will love splashing in the water and collecting seashells, and youâll enjoy relaxing on the sand or wading in the shore.

Horry County Museum

The Horry County Museum celebrates the history and wildlife of this region. The exhibits are varied, focusing on everything from the Native Americans who first lived in Horry County to the beaches of the Grand Strand. Fans of the Animal Planet show âœTankedâ� might remember seeing the museumâs freshwater tank on the show. You can check out the real thing in the lobby! The museum is open from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. from Tuesday to Saturday.

Vereen Memorial Historical Gardens

South Carolina doesnât just have beautiful beaches. We also have gorgeous salt marshes and forest areas where visitors can hike, bike, fish, or birdwatch. Vereen Memorial Historical Gardens is perfect for guests who want to explore more of South Carolinaâs wildlife. Be sure to explore the beautiful trails in the area, and read the informative signs explaining the native plant species growing.

The Franklin G. Burroughs-Simeon B. Chapin Art Museum

If you need a break from the sun, head to The Franklin G. Burroughs-Simeon B. Chapin Art Museum for a quiet afternoon. Opened in 1997, this museum showcases the works of South Carolina natives and residents. The exhibits are only displayed for a couple of months, so repeat visitors can find something new on display.

Barefoot Landing and Coastal North Town Center

North Myrtle Beach has two great malls, each perfect for an afternoon of browsing. Coastal North Town Center is a mega shopping complex, and Barefoot Landing is an outdoor outlet mall. Both of these spots feature awesome shops and restaurants, so you really canât go wrong with either one.
