The Myrtle Beach Zoo is home to a wide variety of mammal, amphibian, and insect species that can be viewed in naturalistic habitats by guests. Feel free to check out their Native Zoo which features area locals like snakes and alligators, bald eagles, grey foxes, hawks, owls, river otters, and white-tailed deer, or visit with Domestic Animals and Historic Rare Breeds area where youâll see mule, sheep, Spanish goats, wild turkeys, Dominique chickens, and Marsh Tacky horses. Donât forget to stop by the one-of-a-kind Cypress Aviary, where you can stroll on an elevated boardwalk and observe birds like black-crowned herons, egrets, and ibises feeding in the swamp and flying overhead.
Take a Tour
Visitors can learn more about their favorite species with two different Myrtle Beach Zoo tours, offered daily. On the Mother Natureâs Cafe tour, youâll be guided through the zoo by an interpreter and can observe the animalâs natural behavior as zookeepers feed them a lunchtime snack. This 50-minute tour is offered at 1 PM each day and meets at the Plantation Barn. Then, get up-close and personal with the zooâs furry friends on a Meet the Animals Tour at 2:30 PM. Youâll be able to interact with the animals during this 45-minute program and will make wonderful memories that youâll never forget!
